Free templates · The Five Hour Build take-home

AI use policy templates

One or two pages a team fills in: what AI may touch, what it may never touch, who approves a tool, who checks the output, and who signs off. One template per industry, written in plain English.

No account needed. Read the template on the page, or download it as a PDF to print and fill in. Text in square brackets, such as [Company name], is for you to replace. This template is a starting point and is not legal advice.

Not sure which gaps you have? Take the AI Risk Check: ten questions, two minutes, a score and your top gaps.

About the PDF

The web page is the accessible version of each template: real headings, lists and links that work with a screen reader, a keyboard or voice. The PDF is for printing. It is real text with the title, language and author set, headings as larger text, and one reading order, but it is not a tagged PDF. If you use assistive technology, use the page.

Fill it in with your team

Each template is the take-home from The Five Hour Build, the one-day seminar at your office. The governance hour is where the brackets get filled in and the policy gets signed. Or work through it one-on-one with tutoring.
